Internet Safety and the Volunteer Manual

Not that Internet safety or the volunteer manual have anything to do with each other. They don't.

MultiMedia Resources exerted superhuman efforts and created posters and bookmarks on Internet safety which are to be posted at every public workstation and webopac. Worded in a non-confrontational way, they warn the customers of possible Internet dangers. While the posters will not prevent customers from using, for example, myspace.com, inappropriately or foolishly, we will have nevertheless have warned them. It's called "intent to inform." The posters are in the branches now.

About the volunteer manual. I've knocked it down to 16 pages and the volunteer supervisor's manual to 24 pages. The revisions aren't done yet, but we're on the way. The "Forging New Links" conference that several of us attended contained many excellent volunteer ideas that I'll roll out later this year.
