A "Lousy" Day

Good morning! Tomorrow I'll be off to Boston and PLA for the rest of the week, but I wanted to share that I have indeed been working on a memo about how to deal with an infestation of head lice. This memo will come out later, possibly today, but the bottom line is this: Notifying library users about head lice is treated like any other infectious complaint, such as chicken pox or conjunctivitis (pink eye). Head lice are annoying, itchy, and gross, but in fact chicken pox (to name one example) is a far greater risk to health.

Somehow when I took this job, this is not what I imagined we'd be talking about.... :-)
